We’re Ahmed and Salma — partners in life and in business.

GAIA Candles is a reflection of our shared journey. We’ve always loved creating moments filled with warmth, comfort, and meaning. Salma has a natural talent for crafting beautiful scents, and I’ve always believed in turning that gift into something the world could enjoy. Together, we poured our passion into something we could both be proud of.

Finding the perfect name was its own adventure. We wanted something that truly represented us and the heart behind what we do. After many evenings of dreaming and searching, Salma — with her background in Greek mythology — suggested GAIA.

In mythology, Gaia is the goddess who gave the world its beauty, warmth, and scents through her roots. The moment we heard it, we knew it was us — grounded in love, inspired by nature, and created to share warmth with others.

From the start, we wanted GAIA to be about more than just candles — we wanted it to make a real difference.

For me, Ahmed, this mission is personal. I’m still facing the same kind of challenges that many cancer patients know well, and I understand how much even a small act of kindness can mean. Creating GAIA gave us the chance to share that kindness in our own way.

That’s why, with every GAIA candle you purchase, we donate 25 EGP to the National Cancer Institute.
